After dispatching ash zombies and animate twigs, the party reaches Venomfang's tower — where the lisping young dragon offers to trade his departure for the death of his sister Velaxia. The parley goes exactly as well as expected when Venomfang exhales a toxic cloud the moment the party crowds close to see his map, dropping Kepesk and leaving Dwomdin and Respin to hold the line.
Glassstaff, a Glass Staff, and a Glass Eye

The Red Brands fall to a spider, a unicorn, and a dwarven maul — but a bugbear and a wizard's fireball push the party to the edge, until Adolpho the Love Unicorn resurrects Helluva and heals the group. Glassstaff surrenders under a rain of Kepesk's arrows, yields a magic glass eye that Helluva promptly installs in her own socket, and reveals under questioning that the Black Spider is a female drow who has already reached Wave Echo Cave.
Red Brands, 110 Pounds, and a Fucking Unicorn

The last Redbrand stragglers are mopped up — one dragged from a barrel by Dwomdin's maul — and the manor's back rooms are looted for coin and garnets. Blix nearly falls into a pit trap of his own triggering, and just as five more Red Brands are found waiting behind a locked door, an uninvited rainbow-colored unicorn materialises in the middle of the fight.
Phandelver's got some Heat!

A fire at Barthen's Provisions kills one of Elmar's helpers and a posted notice pins the blame on the Troublesome Bears, turning the town suspicious and dangerous. With Harben gone and the Redbrands forewarned by Carp's accidental slip, the party strikes the ruined manor at midnight — breaching burning oil traps and discovering, mid-battle, that Dwomdin has grown a monstrous tail.
The Town Speaks

On their first full day in Phandalin, the Troublesome Bears gather intelligence from locals — a wounded shrine-keeper, a grieving neighbour, and a knowing merchant — finding the town heavier with trouble than expected.

Sildar recovers and shares what he knows about Wave Echo Cave and a missing Alliance wizard. The party travels the last stretch to Phandalin to find a town quietly under the heel of a gang called the Red-brands.
The Upper Room

The party clears the goblin cave — Blix's fog cloud and Helluva's wolf spider form turn the lower chamber, while Clarg and Ripper fall upstairs. Sildar is freed but weakened. Lionshield loot raises new questions.
Into the Cave

The party pushes into the goblin cave hideout. Respin captures and interrogates a goblin named Enik, learning that Gundrin is held at Cragma Castle on orders from a figure called the Black Spider. Sildar is found alive but not yet freed.
What the Bend Hid

Three days of uneventful travel toward Phandalin take a grim turn when the party discovers the dead horses of Gundrin and Sildar at a Goblin ambush site, fights off lurking attackers, and follows a trapped trail north into uncertain danger.
